25-year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Reuben Hester (formerly China Lane) is no stranger to the public eye as he re-releases his debut single “Sold my Soul” following a new record and publishing deal at the turn of the new year. Reuben performed “Sold My Soul” as part of Little Mix’s BBC show The Search which aims to form the next big UK pop group to join Little Mix on tour.

On first listen, what's most distinctive about the record is Reuben's unique vocal tone and the raw emotion that bleeds into his dramatic vocal performance. Reuben explains that he wrote the song in memory of his late father, Kevin, who died at the young age of 55 following a drug overdose.

“Sold My Soul” is as heartfelt as they come with its latest rendition featuring Rudimental-Esque drum ‘n’ bass rhythms giving the single a more well-rounded, danceable, and uplifting edge. Reuben has poured everything into his debut record, cementing himself as an artist to watch and providing hope to those suffering from loss.
