NON-PROFIT INITIATIVE 'SUSTAIN THE SCENE' STRIVES TO SAVE AT RISK INDEPENDENT MUSIC VENUES

It’s now been over a year living with the COVID-19 pandemic and the live music industry has never seen tougher times with live music ticket sales and sponsorships down 64% in 2020. Some of the nation's favourite independent venues remain closed and are heavily at risk of shutting down permanently.

In aid of the live music industry crisis, dublab, Postmates, and Restless Nites introduce a new non-profit initiative, Sustain The Scene, to help save some of LA’s finest independent venues. Sustain The Scene will reopen music and entertainment venues throughout Los Angeles at first, beginning March 12, 2021, including exclusive new food & beverage menus, cocktail packages, custom co-branded merch, and gift cards, that can later be redeemed for concert tickets, all available to order through Postmates.

Additionally, the initiative will hold Livestream performances featuring world-class performances, comedy performances, guest hosts, and celebrity performances recorded from the very music stages that provided them with a platform to perform. The first virtual concert kicks off on March 12, 2021, with indie rock duo Girlpool and psych-pop artist Vinyl Williams to then take place on select Fridays and Saturdays.

The first round of venues includes The Regent, Lodge Room, El Cid, Catch One, The Comedy Store, Akbar, The Eagle, The Lash, 1720 and ETA in Los Angeles, and The Alibi in Palm Springs, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
