MOM JEANS BRINGS A STACKED PUNK-FUELED LINEUP TO THE HOUSE OF BLUES IN ANAHEIM

After seeing the band Mom Jeans live more than 4 times, I can honestly say seeing them headline their own tour had the best energy combined.

The openers of the show Free Throw, Just Friends, and Small Crush held up their own on that stage. The three bands were a perfect addition to this tour and added different alternative sounds to the lineup, creating the perfect balance of music throughout the night.

As soon as Mom Jeans. got on stage and started to tune up their instruments the anxiety of the concertgoers was felt throughout the venue. The first song the band played was “Crybaby (on the phone)” and it had the crowd wanting to throw their phone up in the air.

Mom Jeans. is a band from Berkeley, California currently touring the U.S so it is no wonder why lead singer Eric Butler told his fans at their Los Angeles show that he was happy to be home because “California has the best burritos”. The energy at the show was at an all-time high because let's be honest, Los Angeles has the best alternative love to give when it's a local band.

Mom Jeans. played some songs from their older albums such as “Edward 40hands”, “Death Cup”, “Scott Pilgrim v. My GPA”, and “*sobs quietly*” which had the entire venue internally sobbing the lyrics “BABY I’M SORRY, THINGS DIDN’T WORK OUT THE WAY THAT I PLANNED.”

Mom Jeans. also played some new songs from their 2022 album ‘Sweet Tooth’, such as “What’s up?”, “Hippo In the Water”, “White Trash Millionaire”, and others. The band played roughly 16 songs in the playlist, not including their encore which was asked for by their eccentric, blue ribbon-soaked fans.

The band had an energetic headlining show with free band shirts being thrown at the crowd, crowd surfing waves through the venue, ripped apart shoes being held up after the pits calmed down, all while the merch tables had a line 15 minutes before the show ended.

Ending the night with “Vape Nation,” the lyrics ring out to the audience “But I find the time to tell everyone I love, that someday I won't need them anymore but that's because they've given me everything I need to be me.” Mom Jeans. gave Los Angeles everything they needed for a great night surrounded by music.
