DRIVE BY CINEMA’S NEW SINGLE “FLATLINE” BRINGS HIGH ENERGY TO KICKSTART THE YEAR

Drive By Cinema, a pop-punk band from Southern California, is starting the year with a bang. Their new single “Flatline” is anything but; high energy engages the audience from the very first notes, reminding listeners that true pop-punk reigns supreme.

An authentic, emotional performance of the song ties the cohesive mix together. The track features an impressive vocal range showcased by a healthy belt, often left unheard of by tenor leads. A mixture of passion for the music and clear technical ability creates an anthemic tune.

Every new artist that enters a familiar space, such as a genre like pop-punk that has been gracing stages and headphones for decades, has a unique perspective to bring to the table. Drive By Cinema is a great example of this phenomenon; their sounds are familiar, not boring.

Each team player delivered their all in this powerful lead single. Tight, clean guitar playing compliments a distinct drumming style, driving the song without overpowering any one part. Finally, the bass line is easy to follow, rounding everything out. “Flatline” would do well live; I can picture crowds of kids of all ages in a circle pit wearing Vans shoes already!
